Diving Supervisor
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Develops policies and procedures for commercial diving.
· Prepares/reviews all diving contracts.
· Conducts audits on new/existing diving contractor companies/equipment/personnel.
· Monitors Contractor Dive medicals.
· Interprets job request, prioritize and allocates work duties.
· Supervises and directs work teams and contract labour.
· Conducts meetings with relevant stakeholders to provide technical advice on diving as subject matter expert.
· Analyzes QA/QC reports from dive team on jobs completed by contractors, validating information before submitting final report to relevant stakeholders.
· Authorizes drilling/workover rig move permits.
· Approves diving safe work permits.
· Spot hires diving contractors as required
· Prepares/evaluates risk assessments.
· Reviews/plots and approves pipeline and electrical cable routes (to ensure drilling/workover rig and lift
boat approaches to platforms and wells are not compromised)
· Maintain diving reports/documents database (rig/lift boat approaches, pipeline repair/coordinates, dive logs, dive medicals, equipment inspections, subsea structural inspections reports etc.)
· Analyzes and converts GPS coordinates for new/proposed well conductor drilling position.
· Reviews and evaluates divers report and generates a report on suitability for positioning of new/proposed well conductors.
· Updates and maintains safe approaches to platforms and wells for drilling/workover rig and lift boats.
· Coordinates as first responder during oil/gas subsea leaks with dive team and other stakeholders.
· Arranges the inspection and certification of pressure vessels and lifting equipment as required.
· Provides technical advice within area of responsibility
· Review and validate contractor invoices to facilitate payment
· Provides approaches for mooring of test barge and other barges.
· Participates/leads teams elected by Management to investigate Accidents/Incidents
· Prepare monthly reports on all diving related activity.· Manages conflict within team
· Maintains a harmonious and productive work team
· Chairs and or participate in toolbox safety meeting
Qualifications and Experience:
Five (5) GCE ‘O’ Level or CXC passes (including Mathematics and English Language).
Commercial Diving Certificate.
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in commercial diving activities in the oil and gas industry, two (2) of which must be at a Supervisory level.
