Job Summary
- Engender a culture of continuous HSSE performance improvement.
- Controls all work activities through the Company Safe Systems Of Work (SSOW) with respect to the Permit to Work system.
- Responsible for safe maintenance of all of the facility’s control and safety instrumentation equipment and Perform the function of Performing Authority and Isolating Authority for SSOW and PTW systems (as outlined in the Company’s PTW procedures).
- Actively participates and supports the Maintenance Team Leader in leading Behaviour based safety, reporting on unsafe conditions and other safety initiatives pioneered by the Company.
- Ensures that Maintenance Team Lead is advised when any Safety Critical Equipment has failed to meet its performance standard.
- Actively contributes to the Operations team achieving outstanding performance in meeting the Company’s HSSE targets and performance metrics.
- Complies with audit schedules as per the Company’s policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Perform in an emergency response role as defined in Company procedures, contributing to managing and delivering emergency response actions in the event of accidents or incidents under the direction of the OIM or site manager
Qualifications & Experience
- Adept at working in a production and maintenance team structure.
- Strong maintenance experience in C&I equipment, preferably in oil and gas (upstream) or petrochemical (downstream) business.
- Track record of demonstrating success at delivering against maintenance plans.
- Preferably a good understanding of cost control and cost management.
- Ability to challenge outcomes and views which do not meet the production efficiency, availability, and integrity criteria, or hinder delivery thereof.
- Willingness to implement new ways of working that improve equipment availability, reliability and maintainability
- Proficient in the application of maintenance procedures.

- Skills and Attributes
- A technician diploma qualified in relevant engineering discipline or equivalent.
- Good understanding of relevant industry legislation especially in Maintenance related areas
- Conversant with maintenance procedures and management documentation, including block diagrams, PFD’s, P&ID’s, Data Sheets, Cause and Effect charts, logic diagrams, loop drawings and Computer Maintenance Management Systems.
- Conversant with national and international codes and standards applicable to the design, construction, and operation of process plant
- Competent in the application of process isolations and adherence to Safe Isolation and Reinstatement of Plant (SIRP)
- Proven capability in performing maintenance activities in either oil and gas or chemical industry.
- Proven capability in using tools and test equipment for the relevant discipline.
- Proven capability in measuring, reporting and analysing data to deliver performance and maintenance improvements.
- Proven skills in problem solving in relation to C&I equipment faults and maintenance issues
- Perform in an emergency response role as defined in Company procedures, contributing to managing and delivering emergency response actions in the event of accidents or incidents under the direction of the OIM or site manager.
- Monitor and respond effectively to situation changes and put contingency plans in place.
- Committed to the highest standards of HSSE, working continuously for improvement both in own activities and in those of the assets, projects or other business activities in which they are involved.
