Job Summary
- Handles and monitors mooring lines for berthing/unberthing of vessels and ensures mooring linesare properly secured.
- Connects and disconnects pipelines/hoses, monitors for operating pressures and leakages andtakes corrective actions
- Assists in the operation of slop system and slop barge at safe operating levels
- Assists in the setting of lines and operates valves /cargo transfer systems as directed
- Operates winches during loading and discharging operations
- Performs general housekeeping at berths and terminal facilities
- Monitors facilities and equipment to assess their operating performance and reports abnormalities
- Maintains log of activities associated with berthing /cargo operations
- Ensures pipeline headers are maintained and operated in accordance with company safety regulations
- Liaises with ship/shore personnel in the transfer of cargo
- Maintains shift log and conduct proper shift handover
- Responds to all port and marine incidents/emergencies as appropriate
- Develops and implements a people development plan in consultation with Human Resources
- Undertakes any other assignments required from time to time, to fulfill the job purpose
Qualifications:
- Technician Diploma and/ or Certificate in Process Plant Operations
- STCW 95 – Seaman Class 4
- Certification in Tanker Safety
- Minimum of three (3) years relevant Terminal Operations experience
- Must be able to work shift
