Job Summary:
- Safely delivers the daily facility production activities in the field aligned to the business plan.
- Responsible for release of plant for all intrusive maintenance activity using Safe Isolation and Reinstatement of Plant guidelines.
- Executes daily, weekly, and monthly production activities on the Company’s production sites, ensuring the facility achieves the required integrity and efficiency standards to reach production targets safely.
- In conjunction with Lead Operations Technician seeks out gaps in production activities with responsibility for contributing to and delivering production improvements.
- Optimizes operational activities by critically evaluating production practices in association with Operations Team Lead.
- Utilizes Work Management Systems, ensuring that the facilities achieve the required integrity, reliability, and availability levels to enable business and asset integrity targets and KPIs are met.
- Ensures Safety, Production and Environmental Critical and Non-Critical Routines (corrective maintenance and preventative maintenance) are completed on time and compliance targets are met.
- Uses the Company’s reporting tools to enable effective vendor management as it pertains to cost, progress against work programmes and safety competence.
- Delivers production rates for the facility and proactively advises of potential deviations from nominated production rates.
- Participates in Root Cause Analysis of all production outages, equipment failures and ensures measures to avoid repeats are implemented.
- Contributes to the development and review of operating and shutdown procedures to ensure their fitness for purpose.
- Actively participate in the Competency Assurance Management System (CAMS) process through capability and knowledge assessments to assure competency against set targets.
- Responsible for engaging in shutdown planning and execution activities
Qualifications & Experience:
- A Technician Diploma qualified in mechanical engineering discipline or equivalent.
- Good understanding of relevant industry legislation especially in Production related areas.
- Conversant with all forms of process engineering documentation, including block diagrams, PFD’s, P&ID’s, Data Sheets, Cause & Effect charts and Computerised Maintenance Management System.
- Conversant with national and international codes and standards applicable to the design, construction, and operation of process plant.
- Competent in the application of process isolations and adherence to Safe Isolation
- and Reinstatement of Plant (SIRP)
